We’ve imported the archives from our old blog, but as you can see, we’re making a few changes to the way we do things here. In the first instance, we’re conceptualising this space as a webzine rather than a blog and will be situating ourselves more in relation to other feminist groups and organisations. The aims of this site are as follows:
- To keep members of the Mind the Gap network updated with news and information about meetings, events and campaigns.
- To create a space for members to publish and share their thoughts on feminism.
- To support and reflect the vibrancy and diversity of feminist activism in the UK.
- To enable the network to engage with feminism on an international level.
With this in mind, we’ve added a directory of feminist groups and organizations, a library of feminist reading, an events page and a gallery. The site is a work in progress and we’re happy to receive more input, so if we’ve missed a group, or if you’ve seen some great feminist reading online, let us know. We would like it to be a useful and entertaining feminist resource.
We’ll continue to post the usual mixture of opinion and information, but we have had to make some cuts to enable us to continue this project. Due to time constraints and our desire to spend more time developing the real-life group, we won’t be keeping a blog roll and we’ll be closing the comments on most posts. But I’ll leave the comments on this post open in case anyone wants to give us some feedback on the new site.
